Evaluation of transthoracic echocardiography three-dimension composing image for making adopt the type of amplatzer occluder device of atrial septal defect

Methods Apical four chamber view, great vessels short axis view and subcostal four chamber view were formed three dimension composing image, which the ASD diameter and it's stump(hard rim and soft rim)were measured using it from multitude position in preoperative, and according these to make decision that the type of Amplatzer occluder device were adopted in transcatheter occlude of ASD. After the Amplatzer occluder device was inserted between the ASD stumps, it's position and it's stability, and the residual shunt whether or not, and so on, all were observed by three dimension composing image in real time.
Results Seventy-six cases with ASD were measured using three-dimension composing image, and the Amplatzer occluder device were occluded ASD of seventy-three cases were successful in one time(success rate 96.1%,73/76), and the real time monitor using three-dimension composing image showed that the Amplatzer occluder device's position and it's stability were well, and there weren't residual shunt. Because of anat-variant ASD or and it's stumps deviation, there were microdosis residual shunt in three cases(only 3.9%,3/76), and then after the Amplatzer occluder device were replaced in time, the microdosis residual shunt were disappeared wholly immediately.
Conclusions Measuring ASD using transthoracic echocardiography three-dimension composing image were convenient and accurate, and it proved a reliable method for making adopt the type of Amplatzer occluder device of ASD.
