Dr. Rongxing Gan, Director of Shanghai Clinical Research Center (SCRC), has more than 20 years’ experience in research and development in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. He has been the vice president of the leading research institution of life sciences, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences (SIBS), Chinese Academy of Sciences, for 8 years. Dr. Gan has also been a professor in SIBS and a chairman and/or a CEO of a number of SIBS portfolio companies. Dr. Gan obtained his M.D. degree from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1991. He was a visiting scientist at Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology and Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry from 1994 to 1995. He has published more than 30 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and 10 books as the editor in chief or vice editor in chief. Currently, his research interests are focus on the clinical research and translational research, and he has been responsible for more than 10 national key research programs in clinical and translational research since 2008 when he joined SCRC.
