Haojie Huang, Ph.D., holds an Associate Professor position in the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Urology at Mayo Clinic, one of the top hospitals (No. 2) in the United States. Dr. Huang's research primarily focuses onregulation and function of biologically significant transcription regulators, such as transcription factors (androgen receptor (AR), ERG and FOXO1), transcription co-regulators (CBP and p300) and histone/chromatin modifiers (methyltransferase EZH2 and histone demethylase LSD1). Using the state-of-the-art approaches of mouse genetics, biochemistry and molecular and cell biology, Dr. Huang’s laboratory aims to elucidate the role of deregulated PTEN/FOXO1 pathway in prostate cancer survival, glucose and lipid metabolism and metastasis; the involvement of transcription co-regulators in prostate tumorigenesis; and the importance of chromatin microenvironment and epigenetic modulation in prostate tumorigenesis and castration-resistant progression. Findings from Dr. Huang’s research have been published in high-profile journals including Science, Nature Cell Biology, PNAS, EMBO J, Cancer Research and Cell Reports.
