Hongbin Ji
Hongbin Ji is a Professor of cancer biology in Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He mainly focues on deciphering the molecular mechanisms involved in lung tumorigenesis with the integrative studies of mouse models and human clinical specimens. He has previously established the comprehensive spectrum of oncogenic drivers in Chinese lung cancer patients from never smokers and recently identified the RET-fusion as new driver in lung cancer. Moreover, he has found that the master kinase STK11 (LKB1) is frequently mutated in lung cancer and regulates lung cancer metastasis and the adenocarcinoma to squamous cell carcinoma transdifferentiation. He has published more than 80 papers in journals including Nature, Cancer Cell, PNAS and received many honors and rewards including China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists.
