Scott Tenenbaum 博士自我介绍:

I received my PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Tulane University Medical Center doing research in the lab of Dr. Robert F. Garry Garry Lab . I was trained as a Viral Immunologist and studied viral-host interactions focusing on the role of cellular RNA-binding proteins in viral replication. We did a lot of research on viral links to autoimmunity and autoimmune diseases such as Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis remain still interested in autoimmunity today. Some of our work resulted in the development of a patented diagnostic for fibromyalgia that is licensed by Autoimmune Technologies Autoimmune Technologies a biotechnology company in New Orleans, LA. I remained at Tulane an additional two years after being awarded a Hemophilia Foundation Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Fellowship. During this time I studied natural resistance to HIV infection in severe hemophiliacs.

Following this I went to work as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow with Dr. Jack D. Keene at Duke University Medical Center Keene Lab . There I studied RNA-binding proteins eventually developing, along with Craig Carson and Pat Lager, the basic methods for ribonomic profiling, a technology designed for the genomic-scale identification of RNA targets of RNA-binding proteins. This technology is licensed by Ribonomics ribonomics a biotechnology start-up company located in the Research Triangle in North Carolina. I joined the UAlbany Faculty in 2003 at the Ge*NY*Sis Center for Excellence in Cancer Genomics and am continuing to expand ribonomic profiling approaches to be used as a method for the genomic-scale identification of RNA-binding protein regulatory elements. I have a reasonably large very eclectic lab that is divided into a Molecular Biology arm and a Bioinformatic group that work closely together on this project which has been funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute ENCODE project ENCODE. There are several active projects being studied in my lab, only some of which are described in the research interests section of this website. I am always keeping an eye out for exceptionally bright, motivated individuals who are interested in working with me. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested.

I have been married to my beautiful wife, Diane since 1992. We have three wonderful boys Max, Zach and Sam who are 10, 7 and 2 respectively. When I am not working or thinking about science or spending time with my family, I am usually out getting my but kicked in Ice Hockey but insist that I still have a future in the NHL.
