Introduction
Diagnosis of infectious diarrheal agents is time consuming and often consists of multiple culture and other testing steps. A multiplex assay capable of detecting common viral, bacterial, and parasitic pathogens in a single test is appealing from both a laboratory testing and clinical standpoint. We evaluated multiple Luminex ASR primers in a single multiplex reaction on both the Luminex® and MagPix® platforms. In addition, we also report on the prevalence of Rotavirus, Adenovirus and Norovirus infections both individually and as co-infections.
