Riffenburgh教授，美国Naval Medical Center San Diego临床研究中心教授，是国际知名临床研究设计及医学统计学专家，在担任Naval Medical Centre San Diego临床研究部门主任的同时，也是美国政府及北大西洋公约组织研究顾问，发表文献超过125篇。除每年参与本中心多达140余项临床研究工作外，还经常参与美国政府大规模医学研究的指导工作。他为临床医生撰写的著名书籍《Statistics in Medicine》已再版两次，深受读者喜爱。
Dr. Riffenburgh provides advice on experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific integrity on the approximately 140 new studies beginning each year at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He is former professor and Head, Dept. of Statistics, Univ. of Connecticut, and has been faculty at Va Tech., Univ. Hawaii, Univ. Maryland, Univ. CaliforniaSan Diego, San Diego State Univ., and in Leidin (The Netherlands).
He has been president of his own consulting firm and performed and directed operations research for the U.S. Government and NATO. He has consulted periodically on medical statistics throughout his career and full-time for the last eight years. He has received numerous awards and has published more than 125 professional papers.
He is the author of the world popular book "Statistics in Medicine" published by Elsevier.
