As President in Yonsei University, it is a great honor for the Graduate School of Public Health of Yonsei University has been given the opportunity to host the 43rd APACPH Conference. APACPH, for over four decades, has contributed greatly to promoting public health policies and enhancing both the capacity and sustainability of public health systems around the world.

As President in Yonsei University, it is a great honor for the Graduate School of Public Health of Yonsei University has been given the opportunity to host the 43rd APACPH Conference. APACPH, for over four decades, has contributed greatly to promoting public health policies and enhancing both the capacity and sustainability of public health systems around the world.
Korea faces rapid changes in its health and medical environments due to a number of reasons: an accelerated aging society, subsequent increase in chronic illness, decrease in fertility rate, and consumer-oriented healthcare services. Today, such shifts are driving the growth of global public health projects, as well as emerging public health law and ethics.
I believe that the delivery of education, which is leading the advancement of public health projects including public health law and ethics, should reflect this globalization. The education for Global Public Health in which Yonsei University has been interested will directly address major public health challenges through global competence and communication.
Yonsei University, together with Korea’s 5,000 year history, will spare no effort in boosting the social and global standing of the public health education by hosting the 43rd APACPH Conference here in Korea.
