On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 7th Congress of the Federations of Asian and Oceanian Physiological Societies (FAOPS), to be held in Taipei, Taiwan on September 11-14, 2011.
With the human genome deciphered during the last millennium, the first decade of this millennium saw shifting of biomedical research from identification of novel genes and proteins to delineation of novel functional phenotypes for these genes and proteins. By bridging molecules and functions, it is anticipated that physiology will again be in the scientific limelight in 2011. It is in this spirit that the theme of the 7th FAOPS Congress is “Physiology: the continuum of genes to functions”.
The Congress will provide an excellent opportunity to review the current advances in physiological science. Many distinguished physiologists have accepted our invitation to participate in this Congress. Papers will be presented in the form of plenary lectures, special lectures, symposia, topical workshops, and oral or poster presentations. We are now calling for Abstracts for free communications, which will form the core of our scientific program.
The Congress will also be a premier venue for young physiologists to advance their career development. For this purpose, we are prepared to support young investigators, through the Young Investigator Award, to encourage them to participate in the 7th FAOPS Congress.
