国际病毒性肝炎和肝病大会（ISVHLD）是每三年一届，轮流在北美，欧洲，亚太地区举行的国际肝病学大会。每次会议由世界知名专家组成的国际咨询委员会投票选出举办城市。第一届会议在1972年在三藩市举办，往后十二届在美国（华盛顿，纽约，休斯敦，阿达兰大），欧洲（巴黎，罗马，伦敦）， 澳大利亚（悉尼），亚洲（东京）等地举行。
2009年3月，在华盛顿举办的第13届ISVHLD大会上，国际专家委员会考虑到病毒性肝炎和肝病对中国的重要性及中国近年取得的显著进展，建议2012年第14届大会在中国举办，并建议复旦大学上海医学院闻玉梅院士担任大会主席，这是该会历史上首次在发展中国家举办。
经国务院批准同意，本次大会由中国工程院和上海市人民政府共同主办，定于2012年6月在上海举行，会期4天，会议规模约3000人，将邀请来自亚洲、欧美、大洋洲等地的国际著名专家与会。会议将就甲、乙、丙、丁、戊型肝炎、肝癌、肝病研究近三年的进展和展望等专题作报告并讨论，此外将设抗病毒耐药、联合治疗、共感染、中药治疗、肝病的内科、外科治疗及生物治疗等专题。
优秀论文摘要将被Journal of Viral hepatitis收录（影响因子3.502）作为增刊发表。
