The 9th China-Korea-Japan Joint Symposium on Rumen Metabolism and Physiology (9th CKJ-JRS 2013) will be in Changsha, Hunan Province, China during October 11-14, 2013. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to attend this event! We are honored to host this event, and look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from China, Korea, Japan and all over the world.
The theme of the JRS 2013 is Rumen Function Manipulation and Microbiology Ecosystem. Our symposium activities reflect the following four elements: Microbiology ecosystem, including microbial diversity and metagenomics, microbial metabolism and microbial enzyme exploitation; Function and manipulation, including digestion and absorption in the rumen, digestion disorder and fermentation manipulation; Greenhouse gas emission, including GHG emission and mechanism, methodology for GHG measurement, strategies for GHG mitigation; Additives on rumen manipulation, both in bioactive compounds to manipulate rumen metabolism and plant products to manipulate rumen fermentation. The Program Committee has set broad objectives for this symposium, to allow the JRS to explore each of the thematic elements, building upon concrete success from the previous symposiums, and laying out plans to be carried out before the next Symposium. In the past years since the symposium was held, the JRS has continued to expand to more than 30 institutions and universities. It has built strong collaborations with key applications for these organizations. At this symposium we will continue to advance these collaborations.
While attending the JRS 2013 in City of Changsha, we hope that you feel completely at home, as we try our best to match the hospitality offered by earlier hosts of RMP2013 workshops. We have planned several social and cultural events for you to enjoy and learn more about China, well known for her own cultural diversity. We hope that you will take the opportunity to socialize and network with new acquaintances, and build upon those relationships which have already been established to sustain our collaboration. Registration will be open on March 1, 2013, and hotel reservation may be made directly with the hotel by phone or email, or connected with Secretary Gerneral of the JRS 2013.
