This year we will hold our Inaugural Echovation Challenge competition to foster and showcase novel approaches, technologies, and processes in echocardiography. The Challenge will focus specifically on workflow efficiency improvements in cardiovascular ultrasound. In addition to a cash prize and a free 2017 membership, the winners of this challenge will receive tremendous exposure.
Back by popular demand, Chalk Talks will be featured four times throughout the conference. This is an opportunity to get answers from luminaries in the field of echo in an intimate setting. I ♥ Echo, on Friday, is a unique session where instructors will demonstrate cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, and then participants will be able to practice all aspects of the focused cardiac ultrasound exam with the hands-on portion. The very well received Science and Technology Theater’s, industry-supported symposia sessions, will return during all four lunch breaks. Posters featuring cutting-edge research on the latest advances in cardiovascular ultrasound or clinical cases illustrating evolutions in patient care will also be presented.
ASE’s Immediate Past President, Neil J. Weissman, MD, FASE, Director of Cardiac Ultrasound and Ultrasound Core Laboratories at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Washington Hospital Center, President of Medstar Health Research Institute and Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, will deliver the 27th Annual Edler Lecture on Sunday morning. The 17th Annual Feigenbaum Lecture, on Monday afternoon, will be given by Theodore P. Abraham, MBBS, MD, Director of Echocardiography Programs and Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins.
