先天性心脏病是我国人口出生缺陷首位，发病率占新生活产婴儿 6.87-14.39%，每年新增病例 15-20 万，其中 30-40% 为复杂先心病。复杂先心病的救治目前仍面临着巨大的挑战，每年接受外科治疗的复杂先心不到 1 万例。在过去的 60 年，中国医学科学院阜外医院始终致力于我国先心病事业的发展，经过三代阜外人不懈努力，阜外医院小儿心脏外科中心 2015 年手术量超过 4500 例，成为全球最大的先天性心脏病治疗中心，复杂先心病救治达到国际先进水平，获得国内国际同行的高度认可。
恰值阜外医院建院 60 周年之际，由小儿心脏外科中心主办的第一届阜外国际复杂先心病高峰论坛将于 2016 年 6 月 17 日至 19 日在北京举行。加拿大多伦多儿童医院心外科主任 Glen Van Arsdell、美国纽约长老会儿童医院心外科主任 Emile Bacha、英国伦敦大奥蒙德街医院心外科主任 Victor Tsang、澳大利亚墨尔本皇家儿童医院心外科主任 Christian Brizard 等 11 位来自世界各地的顶级先心病外科专家，和阜外医院胡盛寿院士、李守军教授等国内专家受邀展示复杂先心病外科治疗最新成果，还为各位同道呈现先心病治疗的前沿手术视频和先心病顶级外科专家面对面交流的机会。
本次会议将围绕复杂先心病展开激烈的讨论，世界先心病领域的顶级专家将受邀来此介绍最新的先心病治疗研究成果，研讨会上还会为各位呈现先心病治疗的最前沿手术视频。同时，我们还为您提供与先心病治疗领域的顶级专家当面交流的机会。中国每年约有 80000 人接受先心病外科手术治疗，对于小儿心脏病学专家和外科医生来说，复杂先心病的治疗现在仍面临着巨大的挑战。因此，我们诚邀您来参加此次研讨会，与您分享关于复杂先心病治疗的宝贵经验。

Frank A. Pigula, comes to Louisville from Boston where he was the clinical director of the pediatric cardiac surgery program at the Children’s Hospital of Boston, rated number one in cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report. He is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Scholarship Committee and Education Committee.Pigula is widely published and is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in complex congenital heart disease. He is on the editorial board of Pediatric Cardiology, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and Case Reports in Medicine, and is an ad hoc reviewer of The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Pediatrics, The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, Circulation and Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

His clinical practice focuses primarily on neonatal repairs, palliation, complex cases, and adult congenital surgery.He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Canada, a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, a diplomat of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and holds an American Board of Surgery Critical Care Certificate.
