The 23rd World Congress of the World Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons

We would like to welcome you to the  23rd World Congress of the World Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons  taking place from 12 – 15 September 2013 in Split, Croatia.

Professor Dr. Bojan Biocina, the Congress Chairman, as well as the Organizing Committee in cooperation with the Program Committee of the WSCTS,have structured a unique blend of up-to-date science and varied social activities.The theme of the Congress: “Discover the Adriatic Sea – Celebrate Excellence in Science” reflects the essence and philosophy of  this Congress.

As Cardiothoracic Surgeons, we are keenly aware of the transition in surgical approaches that we are currently witnessing. The techniques and applications of Cardiothoracic Surgery and related disciplines are changing fast, as is our understanding of how best to progress in merging our expertise with allied fields so as to produce optimal results for our patients.we are certain that much of the scientific data to be presented will provide us with guidance in our future surgical decision-making. This meeting is indeed timely.

The founding concept of this Society, almost 23 years ago, was the need to have a truly international forum for the exchange of ideas and progress in clinical care and research in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery without geographical bias, and the WSCTS is the only international Cardiothoracic Surgical Society. As always, this Conference will prove to be a wonderful opportunity for Cardiothoracic Surgeons from all over the world to get together, learn from each other, and exchange knowledge and experience. Plans are underway to hold the 24th WSCTS World Congress 2014 in Geneva Switzerland under the Chairmanship of Professor Dr. AfksendyiosKalangos, and the 25th WSCTS World Congress 2015 in Edinburgh UK, organized by Dr. VipinZamvar.

We are sure that your participation will contribute to making a Congress we will never forget. Let the 23rd W.S.C.T.S. World Congress be a celebration of science, life and a healthier future.
