the Annual Program for 2013 is finalized and will be in Washington, DC in December 12-13th a short distance to the White House. This is a watershed meeting since we are doing this in conjunction with the CSRC (Cardiac Safety Research Consortium) which is a major scientific industry and regulatory consortium developed initially at the request of the FDA. In addition to the excellent agenda that is enclosed, the Director of the FDA (Dr. Janet Woodcock) and the Vice Chair for Research at Duke (Dr. Robert Califf) will also give presentations emphasizing the importance of cardiac safety and the collaborations that are being strengthened at this meeting. One of our primary goals for the ICOS Annual Meeting is to finalize a “Best Practice” document for preventing, detecting and treating cardiotoxicity during cancer treatment, that is being developed now.
