Wrist Arthroscopy is used to diagnose and treat problemsinside the wrist joint. This joint is a complex jointwith eight small bones and many connecting ligaments.Used in conjunction with mini- fluoroscopy (reducedradiation with a beam distance of 14inch), Thesesurgical tools permit minimally invasive surgery to beperformed about the wrist preserving uninjuredstructures. This results in patients having fewercomplications and a more rapid recovery. The purpose ofthis symposium is to detail the advances made inminimally invasive surgery about the hand and wristusing arthroscopy and mini- fluoroscopy. This includesthe diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic softtissue injuries including TFCC tears and Intercarpalligament injuries. Arthroscopic/ Percutaneousreduction and rigid fixation of fractures involving thedistal radius, ulna and carpal bones, particularly thescaphoid. Also Fractures of the small joints of the handand Combined injuries of the carpus and distal radius.Arthroscopic assisted DRUjt reconstruction.Arthroscopic/ percutaneous Arthrolysis of the hand andwrist after injury. The treatment of Scaphoid nonunionincluding arthroscopic and percutaneous Bone grafting.Arthroscopic assessment and classification ofKienbock ’ s disease. Arthroscopic treatment ofDegenerative changes the thumb CMC joint, wrist and ulnaimpaction. Including limited carpal fusion Excision andlimited carpal fusion. Arthroscopic Wafer procedure &radial styloidectomy. Limited ulnaosteotomy. Arthroscopic Resection of Dorsal WristGanglia Recurrences after open surgery and volarganglionectomy. Endoscopic tendon release.
